The Mistal is located in the countryside. It was originally a cow shed part of Hermitage Farm, and was converted in 1995 to a 2 bedroom ground level cottage. We are 2 minutes drive from the village of Burythorpe. From the road we are 250 meters along a farm track with a slight incline towards the last part. Our drive and car park areas are gravel. The turning circle is tarmac.
The nearest train station is 10 minutes drive from us, with a Taxi rank directly outside the Train Station. There is also a bus station there. We have a bus service on a Wednesday and a Saturday from the crossroads in Burythorpe which takes you to Malton.
All the big main supermarkets deliver online groceries to us.
The paths around the Mistal are paving slabs.
The car park is level and leads to the main door which is up a step into a porch with a right hand 90 degree turn to an inner door up a step. There is an alternative access from the tarmac area on to a paved path 3ft wide down a slight incline to a double opening door 114cm wide in to the conservatory. There is a lip 8cm high by 15cm wide. From the conservatory there is another lip in to the living room. The rest of the property is level. The internal doors are all 71cm wide.
The Kitchen is spacious and has a sink with lever taps. Worktops are 94cm high. The kitchen table is 79cm high (65cm from floor to underside of table top). Kitchen chairs are 46cm from floor to seat. The carpet is short pile.
The bathroom has a bath with shower over and a solid shower screen which opens fully 90 degrees from the baths long edge. The side of the bath is 53cm high. The toilet seat is 42cm high and has push button flush. The wash basin is 83cm high.
The Double bedroom has a 5 foot bed which is 53cm from floor to the top of the mattress.
The twin bedroom has 2 single beds with a gap between them of 40cm. You are unable to walk round the beds. The measurement from floor to top of the mattress is 60cm.
The carpet around the house is a thick pile, apart from the conservatory which it tiled and the kitchen.
The living room is spacious. The 2 seater reclining settee is 49cm from floor to the seat.
All light switches are 127cm high and all sockets apart from the kitchen are at 72cm.
There is a mains connected smoke detectors in every room and backup lighting in the hall. A Fire extinguisher is in the kitchen along with a fire blanket and torch. A carbon monoxide and heat detection in the kitchen and carbon monoxide detector in the living room.
There is outside lighting in the car park area.
The garden is mainly lawn which is level, with a patio out from the conservatory.
