Easter Holidays

02.04.17

Well it’s nearly the Easter Holidays now so  Oliver will no doubt have plans for me, which means a back log of laundry and daily jobs by the end of the holiday.

The new website is now up and running, with a completely new feel and look, which we are really pleased with.  I am now able to keep it up to date as and when I need to.  I have had a lot of help and advice to create the site from David Quick, and certainly would have given up at the first hurdle had he not been helping.  Also Solutios who host my website have also helped out.  I am very grateful to both.  My brain is still recovering though.

We are now already for the busy season after the winter months of repairs and updates, in between some short break holidays.  Again I have to thank Julie Quick for her help with a few interior ideas.  I often think if you look too hard at things you miss the obvious.  Someone else coming in can spot things more or less straight away.

The light nights mean I can get on in the garden now for longer.  I now feel I am on top of it.   The Tennis Court has been the focus.  We scarified it, then added some seed, and aim to roll it, so hopefully it will flourish!  More tree pruning has been happening, hedge cutting, pot hole filling and grass cutting has now resumed.  Thankfully we haven’t had to grass cut once a  month through the winter this year, unlike last year.

April is now fully booked, we have two groups of cyclists staying with us whilst the Tour De Yorkshire is on 28th April until 30th April.  We still have availability in May, short breaks or 7 nights.

Malton Monthly Food Market starts again on Saturday 8th April, well worth a visit for any foodies!  Visit maltonyorkshire.co.uk for more information.   The Bay Horse Ale House, Burythorpe is now serving food daily between 12 noon and 2.00 pm and is well worth a visit.  They hold a quiz night every two weeks, and the next one is Wednesday 12th April, 8 pm and Saturday April 8th live music.  Please note, they don’t accept card payments.

As you can see from the photo above, the spring flowers are in full bloom, I love the garden at this time of year and wish they all lasted longer.  All the daffodils planted along the drive have come out and add some lovely colour.  I just wish the weeds would stop growing!
