Christmas Time at Granary Holidays

Christmas Time at Granary Holidays is always a busy time.  During November we close to get on with repairs, decorating and updating the cottages after the busy summer season. This time we have replaced the en-suite shower room in The Granary.   We have also added a pump to the shower in The Mistal.  A few walls have also been painted in both cottages.  Everything got completed on time. We then started again with short breaks in December and the lead up to Christmas and New Year.

The trees and decorations all go up in between bookings ready for Christmas and new year.  Each year we added to the collection of decorations.  We had a few problems with fairy lights this time.  A trip to the local shops soon sorted that, and we are now well lit up.

The cottages are often booked together during the year and at Christmas time for family get togethers.  They are ideal because of the space indoors and out, and The Granary having the games room with snooker table and table tennis, where many family tournaments have taken place.

Enjoy an evening in front of The Granary log burner with a glass of wine and some nibbles.

The kitchens in both cottages are well equipped if you are dining in, or as you will see in my other blog, Eating Out Locally we have plenty of choices to eat out.

Bay Horse Menu

The Bay Horse in Burythorpe  has a great menu leading up to Christmas, make sure you book if you are going for Sunday Lunch. Food is being served to Saturday 23rd December, over the festive period it will be 29th & 30th December, then full food service resumes again on 5th January.  They are open daily for drinks from 11.30am. They have live music on 16th December from 8.00 pm and the Christmas Draw with live music on 17th December.  The Stone Trough, Kirkham and The Blacksmiths arms, Westow also have plenty of choice.

Take a leisurely walk up to the village, maybe call in the pub for a warm up in front of the open fires.

The Granary and The Mistal are ideal places to stay if you want to get away from it all, relax and recharge your batteries, but within easy reach of the shops and many local attractions.

We would like to thank everyone who has stayed with us and for all the lovely comments written in the guest books,    2018 is already looking busy.
